The history of the Schertler company began in the mid-eighties when Stephan Schertler created, thanks to an ingenious inspiration and a cork, the first contact microphone dedicated to his bowed instrument, the double bass. The Schertler company developed rapidly and, barely 35 years later, has dozens of products for all types of instruments.
Nevertheless, the love for bowed instruments and their amplification has never ceased to grow at Schertler, which today is a leading company in its field. Many of our ambassadors and customers are still talented string players, two of them being Anais Drago and Rebecca Li, international talented violinist and cellist respectively. Both chose Schertler for their wonderful music, but while Anais prefers our electrodynamic contact microphone for violin, the DYN V P48, Rebecca preferred the STAT C, our static pickup, in combination with the Yellow Blender preamplifier for her cello. Both musicians decided to make a video using our products, and if you want to hear what Schertler products sound like on these fantastic instruments, you can watch them here:
