4.1.0. INSTALLING THE BASIK
4.1.1.
Special adhesive putty is provided to mount BASIK
on the instrument body; the instrument is not damaged
at all. The Putty is placed on the bottom in the center
point of the contact microphone.
4.1.2. No, you can quickly mount
and remove the transducer on the instrument body.
4.1.3. Very easy, the best location
is quickly found through a few trials.
4.2.0 GENERAL
INFORMATION
4.2.1.
BASIK is an electrostatic contact microphone. It
captures the direct vibration of the instrument.
4.2.2. There are thre models: the
BASIK-SET
and the BASIK-PRO
and BASIK-RESO
for resonator guitars.
4.2.3. Installation couldn’t
be easier with the inert putty included in the BASIK
kits. With the help of the manual you will locate the
correct spot on you instrument for your perfect sound.
The Putty is placed on the bottom in the center

4.2.4. Yes, the BASIK needs 10V
phantom power.
4.2.5. Yes! But to do this you
need to use the “Phantom Power Adapter”
(48V or 10V) that is included in the BASIK-PRO or in
the BASIK-SET.
NOTE: NEVER USE BASIK + 48V PHANTOM POWER WITHOUT THE
ADAPTOR.
4.2.6. BASIK can be used with almost
every instrument with a resonating body. Ex: acoustic
steel-string and classical guitar, cello, violin, double
bass, mandolin, lute, percussion, banjo, cithara, kalimba,
bouzouki, sitar, harp and many other ethnic instruments.
4.2.7. No. BASIK is a cost-effective
pickup solution.
4.2.8. DYN-series transducers
have more dynamic range and low-frequency response while
BASIK has more high-end brilliance.
4.2.9. Please check that the phantom
power of your amplifier or mixer is switched on. Check
your connection cables and the channel setup.

TIPS
4.3.1.
Yes. All you need is a 1.5 power supply adapter
for electrostatic microphones. This adapter is inclouded
in the BASIK-SET
model.
