01.11.2009 Systems Workshop has been appointed as the exclusive distributor for Schertler products in the UK and Ireland, beginning November 1st. The Shropshire-based company has distributed the brand on a non-exclusive basis for two years and now takes on the sole distributorship following recent restructuring by the manufacturer.

A-DYN-SET: We are happy to announce that the NEW A-DYN-SET will be available in March 2008. The A-DYN is a contact microphone that in combination with the A-PRE can be used for every application and on any instrument. The A-DYN is a low impedance transducer and can be connected on any mixer in a microphone type input. We suggest anyway to use it with the A-PRE preamplifier that is included in the SET version. Using the A-DYN with the A-PRE you have the possibility to adjust the ROLL-OFF (low cut) filter, the GAIN (3 step gain) and find the correct phase to eliminate the feedback of the instrument you are using. NEW ROOKIE IN THE NBA DRAFT: Turner Broadcasting in the US has developed an interesting application for Schertler DYN-Series microphones. Citing their resiliency and “fat sound,” Turner technicians use DYN-GPs and DYN-Gs to capture the sound of a basketball hitting the backboard and rim during National Basketball Association games. The DYNs are quickly attached to the backboards with Schertler putty and remain in place throughout the contest. Turner tech Tom Sahara says the Schertler pickups deliver sounds that are much fuller and more accurate than other methods, and he is very impressed with the overall great sound of the Schertler DYNs.
NEWS FROM MUSIK MESSE: A highlight of the recently concluded 2006 Musikmesse in Frankfurt was the very successful introduction of the new line of acoustic nylon- and steel-string guitars from Schertler. Manufactured in Europe, the guitars were well received by players and dealers, illustrated by strong sales. In addition, musicians such as Claus Bösser Ferrari, Radha Krishna, Zipflo Reinhardt, Matthias Muller, Frank Haunschield, Johanna Varner, Sergio Giuffrida, Luca Pedroni and others stopped by and made the Schertler booth even more attractive with their music. The new UNICO was seen throughout the acoustic hall, as over 20 exhibitors showcased the amplifier for musicians performing in their stands.

We are excited to introduce our line of European-made acoustic guitars. Designed by noted Swiss luthier Claudio Pagelli and manufactured in partnership with German distributor ProArte, each Schertler guitar will have a top of solid Swiss alpine spruce.With bodies of various fine tonewoods, all five models will be equipped with the Schertler onboard DUAL preamplifier (BLUESTICK together with the new C-DYN) , made exclusively for this product line . We will also present the upgraded UNICO amplifier which has shipped in limited quantities since the beginning of the year, and the new Active DI which has been added to the growing Schertler brand. NEW ACTIVE DI! A Direct Injection (or DI) box is a very handy piece of equipment for any public address rig or recording studio, whether for band or general use. It will allow you to connect the output from acoustic and electric guitars, guitar amps, keyboard, mixers, tape machines and just about anything else directly to the mixer, without using a microphone, and with no hum loops. The Active DI will convert unbalanced inputs to balanced, allows the level to be set to something reasonable, and comes in two flavours. Schertler Active DI consists of discret circuitry in class A to deliver a natural and acurate signal to the mixer.
NEW UNICO SCHERTLER 2006! After two years spent monitoring the market, we decided to make further improvements to an already successful product like Unico to meet our users’ needs even more effectively. Unico has made its success through its versatility and matchless natural sound. Now, we have further increased its flexibility, adding some important functions. By changing the size and shape of the amplifier, we have achieved softer bass. We have introduced a gain control function across the channels for improved input level control – this is vital for a clean signal. Mid control has been added to the DYN and STAT channels and a four-band equalizer is now available in the MIC channel to suit the needs of demanding musicians. More compact and lighter, now Unico is even easier to carry! 150W + 35W RMS, in combination with a biamplified system, guarantee total transparency, harmonically rich sound and full low frequency control (up to 40Hz). Compare Unico with any other competitor amplifier and you will appreciate the difference!
DUAL - THE NEW SCHERTLER PICKUP! What is the Dual? The Dual System is the most important Schertler product in the acoustic guitar amplification domain. The Dual combines the two main Schertler technologies, the electrostatic under-saddle transducer (BLUESTiCK) and the electro-dynamic transducer (Dyn). The BLUESTiCK®, in combination with the C-Dyn, enables the player to create a wide variety of tones. Either pickup may be selected alone, or a blend of the two may be created. The flexibility of the Dual system is complemented by its simplicity; a double rotary controller is mounted with double-sided tape inside the sound hole. The black control is used to adjust the overall volume level, while the white control is used to adjust the blend between the BLUESTiCK and the C-DYN. What about the installation? The installation is exactly the same as for the regular BLUESTiCK, and the C-DYN that is mounted inside the guitar, below the bridge on the Bridge Plate. The C-Dyn pick-up is attached with the flat side mounted to the bridge plate - the cover of the C-DYN faces the inside of the guitar. The Dual requires no visual modification of your instrument – no more unsightly control panels, volume knobs, and so on.

BASIK - CONTACT PICKUP FOR ALL ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENTS From the 1st of June, the BASIK-SET will be delivered with a power supply adapter with one 1.5V battery instead of with the 48V adapter.
All customers that prefer to order the BASIK together with the current phantom 48V adapter, they have to order with the new code BASIK-PRO. With the BASIK-SET version, the microphone can be plugged in any amplifier through the phantom power adapter. This product has been conceived either for musicians or other not professional use (Hi-Fi, PC, etc.) With the BASIK-PRO version, it can be plugged in any microphone input with the phantom power on. This product has been conceived for pro audio and recording studio applications.
