Federico Puppi


Federico Puppi is an Italian polyhedric cellist, author and producer who has been living for 3 years in Rio de Janeiro. 
He graduated at the Conservatory of Aosta and studied folk/jazz music at the "Aula del Conservatori del Liceu de Barcelona". He played and recorded with many Brazilian artists such as: Gilberto Gil, Maria Gadú, Sergio Mendes, George Israel, Paula Toller, Roberta Sá. 
He co-produced Maria Gadú's last album "Guelã" (2015), considered the best album in her career by the musical critics, in which he recorded all cello parts using the STAT-C pickup.
Sergio Mendes' album "Magic" where he partecipated as celloist, has been nominated in the "Best world music album" category at the Grammy Awards in 2015.
His first album "O Canto da Madeira" that will come out in fall 2015, has the collaboration of Gastão Villeroy, Marco Lobo, Cesinha, Fernando Caneca as well as Maria Gadú's partecipation.
